Medium … are we breaking up? over authors with low followers?

Medium informed authors, that authors with less than 100 followers will be dropped. hmmmm.

I read medium every day … I now look at the authors #of followers.
and ALL the authors I read have less than 100 followers.

I guess we are breaking up.
[buckets of tears].
Its a little ironic I am using Medium as a medium to express my opinion on Mediums ill advised policies about Medium author program; leading to my interest in subscribing to Medium to erode from strong to medium.
[yes that was a Dad joke]

Truly, I thought Medium understood the value of micro-publishing to small audiences. This announcement says Medium is now run by the Ferengi [Startrek reference].

They either don’t understand, or don’t care. it seems that Medium is on a path to be the same as USA Today (lowest common denominator of audience interest).
